Ho 'Ka-lau increased the lead on his own service, and although Ernie Fincher captured, his, the end was in sight.
Taui Wai-pul won the eighth game on service and further orrore on the part of the Finchers saw Teddy lose his second service of
the act.
The Finchers should have won this set. They were playing much the better tennis up to the fifth game, but when they allowed errors to creep in it was all over bar the shouting.

Razack, which meant a re-shuffling of the team, with the famous Rumjahn cousins combination broken up: even so the last thing expected was the thing which happened.
TWO 'CONCLUSIONS. Two conclusions can be drawn from the result, ao far as the Certainly I.R.C. are concerned. the Rumjahn partnership should never have been broken. It was good enough for three sets, and Bux would probably have par- farmed no worse with Cassumb- hoy than with H. D. The match

IMPRESSIONS. Impressions left by the match were that the C.R.C. will have little cause to worry this summer' and that there will certainly be no necessity for team changes.
On the other hand the K.C.C. can probably experiment in this direction with beneficial resulte. Unfortunately the Peninsula club are still suffering from a dearth of first grade players outside of the Finchers, Guest and Hyde.
The failure of the strengthened Craigengower side against the, Recreio came as something of n surprise. None of the pairs did themselves justice... Leonard and Hachiuma lost two acts as did Tam Yoc-fong and Tsui Yun-pui.

But these things apart, it is to the credit of South China that they lowered the colours of the potential champions,
With only the Fincher brothers capable of making an impression, the powerful C.R.C. first string enjoyed a field day at King'a Park. TSUI'S DEBUT.

The champions boasted definitely superior all-round balance and with Tsui Wal-pui proving an excellent successor to Yew Mart-kit, their success was discernible after the first round.
It was asking a big thing of Grech and Hambly to jump straight into first grade tennis against such a strong side and they not unexpectedly failed to win a set.
They held their own against W. C. Hung and Iu Tak-chauk taking the set to ten games, but they could do little against the forceful attack of Ho Ka-lau and Taul and the steady and reliable team work of the Lo brothers.

Guest and· Hydo were the big-, gest disappointments. They ap proached nowhere near their true form and seemed overawed by the occasion. They nearly snatched a set from the Lo's but throughout to the afternoon came off second best In the long rallios.
Although doing most of the at tacking against Ho and Toul the uncanny retrieving powers'of Ho, who returned smash after smashi |with wonderful lobs, shook their confidence and blunders followed.
TRAGIC EXPERIENCE.
The Finchers, after halving their first set with the Lo's had rather a tragie experience 'against
