Paris, May 31. Christian Boussus, candidate for French Davis Cup honours this year, gained a brilliant auç- casa in the fourth round of the French championship to-day when he beat Frank X. Shields, national ranking American star, and finalist at Wimbledon in 1931 in four sets.

Bowls history was made in Hongkong yesterday when, in the first round of the Open Singles Championship, J. C. Brown, the Kowloon Dock skip defeated F. Normington of the Hongkong Electric by 21 shots to one.
Normington scored his single on the first head, and thereafter held a watching briof while Brown helped himself to a four, a couple of threes and a series of twos and singles with which he went out to secure 'mutch point.
