afternoon. pilot, yesterday Thousands gathered outside the Peninsula Hotel and every vantage point was taken to watch Captain be Harvey's aerobatics, which brought to a conclusion with a most impressive dive, travelling at a very high speed.

Shortly after 6.30 p.m., a buzz in the air gave Indication of the air- man'a doparture from Kal Tack, from where he took off.. Presently the A/W/"XVI" came into ful view proceeding in a westerly direc tion. Captain Harvey then turned and after doing a roll, completed three beautiful loops in rapid auc- cession, Returning from the direc tion of North Point, the pilot then Indulged in rolling off loops, and the crowd were enthralled when he flew i upside down for quite a distance.

Righting the plane, Captain Harvey performed a number of up- ward spins and the machine be- haved as gracefully as a bird. Just before ten minutes to elx, he flew aust, and on returning. made the dive at a high speed, after which he circled aver ite Water Polico Station and the Kowloon Hotel and returned to Kal Tack.

The maching is powered with an "Panther" Armstrong Siddeley geared and fully supercharged air- craft engine. This engine develops 600 H. P. and has 14 cylinders. A double engine weight of 973 lbs. gives the weight par I..P. of leas than 1.7 lbs. A similar engine is on display at the Far East Aviation Co's exhibit at the British Empire Fair.

The aircraft is fitted for oxygen- to enable the plot to carry out altitudo flying.

The A. W. XVI je equal in per- formance to any radial engined single seater alteraft produced to- day. This aircraft is manufactur- ed by Messrs. Sir W. G. Armstrong Whitworth Aircraft Ltd., at Whitley, Coventry, and the motor by Messrs. Armstrong Siddeley Motors Ltd., Coventry.
