NOTES SUPPLIED BY THE THEATRES
There is one thing impossible, even to the modern miracle workers of the picture studios who recreate lont worlds, part sena, raze mountains and destroy cities. It is impossible to remain ombre on a film that han Will Rogers in the cast, He is Just that kind of a fellow,
Far from being EL wine-cracker, Rogers keeps everyone laughing be- cause he instinctively gets a humor- our slant on everything from the news of the day to the humdrum routine of work. It isn't su much what he says, although that is plenty, but the way he anys it. Paper and print can't reproduce the Rogers drawl or the aly subtle humeur of the Rogers' grin.
He was in particularly good form when he worked with Janet Gaynor, Lew Ayres, Sally Eilers, Norman Foster, Louise Dresser, Frank Craven and Victor Jory on "State Fair".
He wore overalls and rough blue antiris. He puttered around a farm yard, and he had the time of his life doing scones with Blue Boy, the 000. pound prize hog of the picture.
On his first meeting with the giant pig, Rogers was properly impressed. "So you're Blue Boy he muned. "You're certainly some hog. When it comes to pork, there's nothing liko you even back at Washington. Well, ht added reflectively. "You and me, Just a couple more hams for Holl wood".
A day or two later, Blue Boy held up a scene with a bit of temperament. You know where you'd look good". Rogers muid to him sternly, “right on the breakfast table, between n couple of eggs".
Still another time, the hog refused to grunt for the microphone. "Hm" murmured Will, "Just as talkative as stock speculator before a Senata
Committee, Investigating
aren't yon"?
"State Fair" starts an engagement at the King's Theatre on Sunday
next.
"Explorers of the World" "Explorers of the World", a Raspin motion picture production, now show. ing at the Central Theatre, is a symposium of the exploits of six well-known explorers who have journeyed to the far corners of the earth in the interests of science and adventure.
The film taken the onlunker rapidly through Asia, Africa, South America, the Aretic and the Antarctic.
In the American Museum cf Natural History, in New York, in a great ground floor hall to be known na the "Hall of Ocean Life", a series of groups are now in the process of pre- paration and will be opened to the publle sometime in the near future. Among the most pretentious of these groups is a collection of eight great walrus from the Arctic Ocean north of the Siberian Const. Thôir aggre- gate weight would be well in excess of 10 tons and two of them are more then 13 feet in length. These great prehistoric-appearing creatures were recently collected on an expedition led by Inrold McCracken, who is one of the six men contributing to this in- teresting as well thrilling film,

the picture show these same wal- rus alive and in their nativo, ley habitat before and while they are bo- ing collected. Not only does the film, "Explorers of the World", give one a very graphic insight into this other and most spectacular side of Museum work, but it provides thrill after thrill for the adventure-loving city stay-at-homes, and is something which once seen will never be forgotten.
"A Passport to Hell"
"A Passport to Hell", the Fox | melodramas of the tropics, played against a back-ground of conflict, opens its engagement at the King's Theatre tu-day.
Elisan Landi portrays the leading role, one that gives her ample op. purtunity for a display of her talents. It is such that in no previous picture has she enjoyed a role so well adapted to her capabilities, not excepting even "The Yellow Ticket",
Set in German West Africa, and played with hundreds of natives furnishing a colourful background, and with a cast that includes some of the most popular screen personallt- les in Hollywood, "A Passport to Heil promlacs to furnish one of the high spots of the season.
The story revolves around the mis- adventure of a young army officer who falls in love with the first white woman he has seen in many months. Without investigating her past he marrica her to save her from im- prisonment in a detention camp.
How fate works out the destinies of the all involved forms the basis of story.
