The trustoos of the Ponga Memorial Scholarships Fund offer two scholarships of a trionnial value of £1,850 each, subject to the conditions of the Trust and with the object, as stated by the donor, of encouraging British boys to turn to the laboratory, the workshop or the land, in pro ference to the counting-house and the office. The award will be made by the trustees on the re- commendation of the Examination Syndicate of Cambridge Univeri alty on the result of the School Certificate Examination to be hold in December, 1939.
Those scholarships ara open to British boys of pure white descent who have boon resident in China or Hongkong for a period of not less than three years immediately preceding the examination, and whose parents (or one of them) have resided in China or Hong- kong for a period of at least three years. Candidates must be below the age of 20 years on July. 1. 1988,
The prizemen will be required. to select from the following courses of study: (1) Electrical Engineering and/or Synthetic Chemistry (2) Practical Farm- ing and/or Horticulture. Thoy will be allowed the option of choosing any one subject or group indicated of two subjects, na above.
