You have no right to pass, after once making an original forcing two bid, or a jump shift response, until a game contract is reached. Unless your hand meets the ex- ceptionally strong requirements for foreing bids, play safe and simply make a constructive bid
If partner has anything, he will respond with a constructive bid and you can safely and surely ar- rive at the best spot at which the hand should be played.
Avoid paychics-they ruin part- nerships and lose more points than they gain. The one over une should only be made with a bidd-. able suit. Don't make a psychic! one over one simply to force your. partner. Let him know that he can count on a biddable suit from You.

FACTORY DISASTER
IN SHANGHAI.
OVER A HUNDRED LIVES BELIEVED LOST
... Shanghai, Feb 21. It is believed that at least 100. lives were lost in an explosion of two huge gasoline vulcanisers in the factory of the Zungdah Rubber Company, in Yangtse- poo, this morning.
The explosion made a horrible of the two-storeyed shambles brick factory; in the interior of bricks. which the machinery. burnt wood and the charred bodies of the victims are indis- criminately mixed.,
There were two blasts. A fire followed the first, while the Recond explosion blew out the wall and ceiling of the boiler- room, precipitating 160 girls from the upper floor into the raging inferno below.
The casualties are placed at 81 killed, 50 seriously injured, 70 slightly hurt and 10 missing. Many of those injured are in n very critical condition.
The cause of the catastrophe has not been determined. The owner of the factory has disap-" peared.-Reuter,
