SPORT ADVTS.
THE HONG KONG JOCKEY CLUB.
ANNUAL RACE MEETING, 1933 18th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 25th, February, 1933,
On Saturday 18th, Monday 20th. Tuesday 21st, and Wednesday 22nd February, the first bell will be rung at 1a.m., and the first race will be ru at 11.80 a.m. On Saturday, the 25th February, the first belf will be rung at 1.80 p.m., and the first raco will be run at 2.00 p.m.
The fin interval will be taken after the Afth race in the first four daya.
MEMBERS' BADGES AND ENCLOSURE. Members are reminded that they and their ladies must wear thol
badges prominently displayed.
No one without a badge will be admitted to the Members' Enclosure, Badges admitting non-members to Club the Members' Enclosure and Rooms at $10.00 per day including tax-or $40.00 including tax for the Meeting (Indien $6.00 and $20.00 respectively), are obtainable through the Beerotary upon introduction by a Member, auch Member to be respon. alble for all chits,cle.

On no pretext will children be per- mitted in either enclosure during the first four days of the Meeting.
PUBLIC ENCLOSURE,
The price of admission to the Public Enclosure is $4.00 per daş including tax for all persons including ladies, and is payable at the Gate.
Soldiers and Sailors in uniform
are admitted to the Public Enclosure at $1.00 per day including tax.
Bookmakers, Tic Tac min etc. will
not be permitted to operate within the precinets of The Hong Kong
Jockey Club during the Race Meet.

How to Judge Whisky

The Colour of Whisky
Do
you make a practice of judging whisky by its colour or by the strength? No good judge of whisky takes much notice of the colour, nor is a good judge favourably impressed by the bite or kick in determining the age and quality of Scotch Whisky.
If a glass of colourless whisky were put before you it would be received with grave suspicion, and sipped with great caution. Whisky
can be matured and still be almost colourless. The colour in
whisky is obtained from the particular wood in which it
is matured, and if matured in plain oak casks for a
I
period of years there would be little or no change in the colour of the whisky. Do not, therefore, judge whisky by its colour. It does not always indicate the age or strength of the whisky.
The Right Way to
Test Good Whisky
The expert tests whisky by the nose and by the palate. To tell a good whisky by the nose" is rather difficult, unless you are an expert,
but most people can rely on their palate, and if you have a sensitive palate you should have no difficulty in detecting the fine qualities of

"WHITE HORSE." Where there is a bite or kick in whisky it does not signify that one whisky has more alcoholic strength than the other. Cheap and imma- ture whisky has a very decided bite or kick. If whisky is matured for, say, 20 or 30 years, the strength is reduced very considerably indeed. It tastes like cream. "Marrying" of
"White Horse"
For "WHITE HORSE" only the choicest makes of Scotch whisky are selected. They are matured for a long period in sherry wood before blending. After the first blending operation "WHITE HORSE" is allowed to lie in wood for a further period, in order to allow the whisky to become properly "married." The contents of the casks are again put in the blending vats and again allowed to lie in the wood. The general public have very little knowledge of the time and the care which are taken and the expense which is involved in this blending and reblend- ing, or marrying" of "WHITE HORSE" whisky before it is bottled. A more mellow, generous and delightful spirit than "WHITE HORSE" is not obtainable. This Real Old Scotch, which is the senior Whisky of Scotland, will sustain the tone and dignity of any Club, Mansion or Cottage, in any corner of the globe.
