The chorus itself was probably as good as it has ever been, par- ticularly after it had recovered prised: from a shaky start.
The valse scene was a triumph for the players and producer, being quite the outstanding part of the opera. Miss Winifred Hender- son's ballot was admirable, calling for the generous recognition of the audlenec, whilst throughout the Binging was very enjoyable.

Once again the show was markable well mounted, costumes, scenery and effects being of the best. Mr. T. V. Harmon deserves the fullest commendation for his. work in this direction,
The intelligent and sympathie touches of the producer, Mr. S. A. Sweet, were noticable all through the show, and it is largely to lits credit that the production is so wood. Under his guidance the Philharmonic Society has given to Hongkong a most enjoyable enter- tainment, and he fully merits the success which attends it.-S.1.G., The Cant.
