You are undoubtedly familiar with an expression used in the play of the hand, which is, "lead through strength and up to weak- леня,"

In other words, let us say that the exposed dummy hes two amall diamonds and the ace, queon; and a small club. If you are on

select a lend, you would certainly not wish to lead clubs as you would be leading directly into the

seo-queeti

Your best lead would be up to the diamond suit in dummy, which fa weak, because you would be leading through the declarer's bood, which would undoubtedly assist in establishing cards in your partner's hand.

However, if you were in the lead and were sitting to the right of the dummy you would not wish to lend diamonds, as that would be leading through your partner's strength and would allow the leclarer, who was sitting over that hand, to kill off his good cards.

Your best lead would then be through the ace-queen of clubs in dummy, hoping thereby to establish a king or a jack in your partner's hand.

This is the principle which is employed in the one over one system of contract bidding. in original no trump bids.
