RECALLED
ENQUIRY INTO DEATH OF MR. THEODORE OGIER
The tragedy at Kowloon Dockn in the early morning of December 8 waя recalled at the Kowloon Magistrney yesterday afternoon when Mr. Butters, sitting as Coroner, conducted an enquiry into the circumstances attending the death of Mr. Theodoro Ogier, Chief Officer of the river sienmer Kwongani, who was found dead in the water in the Docks. The jury empanelled consisted of Messrs. J. H. Shaw (foreman), Wong Chor-cong and P. W. Osborne,
Inspector. Lane gave evidence of being called to Kowloon Docks at 7:30 am, on December 8, and on arrival, of finding the body of the deceased in the water inside a camber. He had it removed to a Police launch, and there it was identified as the body of Mr. Theodore Ogier, the Chlef Ofcer of the su. Kwongsal, which was lying close by.
The body was fresh and could not have been in the water for more than a few hours. The dress was in perfect order, and a purse found in one of the pockets appeared to be intact. In it wore $114.75 in Hongkong currency. In his other pockets were found a pipe, a tobacco pouch, a key, a ring and a pair of spectacles.
