THE SPLENDID RECORD OF MR. SIRDAR KHAN
A fine record of servico in the Hongkong Government is the proud achievement of Mr. Sirdar Khan, of the Harbour Office, who is shortly retiring and going back to India fur a well-earned rest.

Mr. Sirdar Khan arrived in Hong- kong as a soldier in the Hong- kong Regiment as far back 1897, but the Jure of good post. tion in the Government caused him to resign from military ser- viço the following year, and, he joined the British Post Office, in Shanghat, where he subsequently acted as chief clerk in 1908, and In 1914.
In December 1914, Mr. Khan re- turned from Shanghai and joined the Hongkong Police Reserve. He was instrumental in forming and training the Indian Corps of the Hongkong Police Reserve, then numbering about 100 men.
Ля л result of his work for them he was promoted to the rank of Chlef Inspector and placed in command of the Indian Corpa, having two companies, each in command of a sub-inspector under him. On the disbandment of the Police Reserve after the war he was awarded n medal for good service.
