Sir William Jowitt is one of the most brilliant advocates of the day, and it is interesting to note that he recently made a sucessful ap plication to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council for leave to appeal against the sentence of six months' imprisonment passed on Commander J.G. Sutton, R.N., on a charge of manslaughter follow- ing the death of a hotel-keeper in Cyprus.

He further expressed the opinion that the silver vein discovered would prove the richest and largest in mining history.
