Playing miserably disappointing football, the Inter- port Probables yesterday suffered an inglorious defeat at the hands of the "Rest" in the so-called final trial by two goals to one."
The score in itself is nothing. It was the manner in which the reverse was inflicted, which not only dis- appointed the spectators, but must have shocked the selectors.
In all seriousness I suggest that members of the Rest of the Colony team which played yesterday should form the neoclus of the Interport side to visit Shanghai, and that the selectors should start all over again their task of picking a team worthy to represent the Colony,
Here are a few outstanding im-| pressions of the game.
In addition to the two goals they scored, the "Rest," if they had utilised their opportunities should have had three more.
The Probables were in such a plight during the last 20 minutes of the first half that they appear- ed demoralised.
Despite the fact that both Howe and Johnson were on view the cen- tre-Lorward problem remains us neute as ever. Both men gave wretched displays.
Suen Kam-shun was the finest forward on the field, but was in- adequately supported.
The ineptitude of the Pro- bables to work together with any real understanding and pre cision rendered it ineffective in attack and indeßnite in defence. At no time did the Interport nominees display football which invited confidence of their ability of the to
overcome opposition most mediocre character.

DISMAL STORY. Altogther a
dismal story, relieved by but a few bright Incidents, such as the splendid custodianship of Rodgers, who bffected two of the smartest saves from penalty shots that have probably ever been seen In Hongkong."On each occasion he went across the goal to gather perfectly, good shots which were travelling for the
corners.
Wong Meo-shun worked like a trojan, but did not make the best ure of the ball, and failed to put Howe through with those forward passes which the Club player thrives on. Wong, however, did more to break up the "Rests at.
It was plainly evident from the tack and to put the Probables on the offensive than any other start that the Rest were out to extend the Probables-to the full player.
Bliss gave patchwork quilt and I think it was their early age display, being bright and indif-grosiveness ferent as the spirit moved him. Rastored the Internort nominees, He always had the full measure but gave the Rest that confidence of Lawson, and did make some nended to sustain a winning game.
