WINS EVERY TITLE

SWIMMING FEATS BY MISS YEUNG

HARBOUR RACE YESTERDAY

TELEGRAPH. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20, 1932.

By winning the ladies harbour race vesterday, Miss Yeung Shau-king, has this year cantured fiye swimming titles, including: the Colony's 100 yards championship.

Her amazing achievements are set out below:

Colony's 100 yards champion- ship in 72 1/5 secs (re- cord)

Colony's Harbour Race in

32 mins. 46 secs. S.C.A.A. 50 metres in 32 4/5

secs. (record}

100 metres in 1 min.

25 1/5 secs. (record).

200 metres breastroke in 4 minutes...

Iler success in the harbour swim yesterday was almost a foregone conclusion. Last year she was second to Miss Doris Hunt who put up the record swim of 31 minutes 4 seconds, and it is not without significance to observe that though she yesterday swum considerably out of her course, aml WAR hampered by adverse currents, she finished only 1 minute 42 second behind the record time.

Eleven entries were received for yesterday's event, but of there Misa Chan Woon-king, who finished third Inst your, did not face the starter. At 5.15 p.m. Mr. G. T. May gut the winners off from Kowloon ! ja- mediately on diving in Miss Young

ler course, however, was badly mapped out, but without exception the other swimmers followed in her wake, with the result that the ten compethors were all taken completely out of a direct

course.

PROGRAMME REVISED.

Aliss Young herself was swimming straight for the Naval Yard camber and was at least 300 yards to the east of her course. Two Chinese swimmers, Misses Leung Wing-hun INTERPORT and am Pou-wah, were well to the east. Following the leading lady Were Miss Lam Tollai and Miss Young Shau-chun, who were together prac tically the whole distance, with "Misa L. Sadick some distance behind. The others all dropped further behind as the race progressed. The two Shoo- smith sisters were a considerable distance behind the others, but awam pluckily und Anished about 20 minutes after the winner.

Miss Yeung Shau-king finished the course well ahead of the other com- petitors, the nearest being over thrco minutes behind. Miss Lam To-lai, who was second, was making her maiden attempt in the race and al-

BATTERY BEATEN IN POOR GAME

NAVY MEN GARNER

TWO POINTS

By the only goal scored the R.A.S.C. defeated the 20th, Battery in the Mamak Tournament at Boo- kumpo yesterday. Although thera was little to choso, between the teams as the score indicates the Rame was uninteresting.

The first half was evenly con tested both gonis being raided in turn. In the Battery defence Combey played n'sterling game frustrating many attacks. Tho second half was in favour of the R.A.S.C. and of the players Capt. Eve and Tipple were outstanding, About ten minutes from the final whistle Tipole, following a fine individual effort, found the net for the Corp#

ROYAL SIGNALS LOSE.

Playing on the Marinn ground yesterday H.M.S. Wishart defeated the Royal Signals after a very scrappy encounter by the odd goni in three. Within the first minute the Navy men forged ahead, and although the Corps took some time to settle down, they drew level before the interval through Lt. Whiteway Wilkinson. In the second half the Wishart had more of the play and they gained the lead again after a few minutes play when their inside left netted.

JATS WIN.

Playing on the Marina ground. yesterday against a Jat XI., the Wanderers were defeated by two goals to it.

The game between the German Club and the K.1.1.C., on the U.B.R.C. ground was postponed.
