K.C.C. TENNIS FINALS

FULL WEEK.END OF MATCHES

A TRIUMPH OF ORGANISATION

Given fine weather, the Kowloon Cricket Club tennis tournament, which has been no efficiently or- ganised during the past fortnight, will, this week-end, come to a con- clusion. -

This afternoon, the most im- portant finals-those of the senior and junior championships and the ladies championship-will be played off, and to-morrow will be devoted to the last stage of the handicap events together with the final of the consolation event.

This is probably the first time lu the history of local tennis, that a tournament of the magnitude of the K.C.C. event, has been completed within a fortnight, and the achieve- ment reflects the highest possible credit on Mr. D. S. Green and his. committee assistants, as well as the competitora for their co-operation. i

It demonstrates quite clearly that given the proper organisation. tennis tournaments need never ex tend over months as is usually the case in Hongkong, and it is to be hoped that from this example, the Hongkong Championships learn a useful lesson.
