The Bidding.
South passed, West opened with one No Trump-a bare minimum, North overcalled with two hearts. East bid three diamonds and South wont to three hearts which hough the contract. AL three tables the band was actually pass ed out.

The Play.
East opened his fourth best día- mond--the six spot-which South the dummy won with the ace. small spade was then returned, the declarer winning with the ace and returning a small spade to dummy's 10, East winning the trick with the jack. East led the king of diamonds which the de- clarer trumped with a small heart. A small spade was then led and trumped dummy. Declarer re- turned the king of trump from dummy which West won with the ace. Immediately returning the six of trump. Deelarer won the trick with the queen and returned his last spade, trumping in dummy with a heart.
The No Trump bid by West had practically marked him with the ace of clubs, therefore the declar er now led n small club from dummy and when West. refused to g up with the ace, the declarer played the king and then returned the deuce of clubs which Eust was forced to win with the -UB23. Weal could not overtake with the ace to prevent the end play or he would set up dummy's Jack clubs.

Before leading the club, the de- elarer had been careful to strip the dummy's hand of diamond and spades. The East hand was stripped of everything but dis- monds. He was now forced to lead a diamond which the leclar er trumped in the dammy and discarded the losing club from his own hand on it.
Stripping the hand down and then throwing East in the leat with a club forcing him to lead diamonds, gave the declarer four odd, but as only three were bid. no game bonus rould be scoreri,

Ancient Postal Systems. History shows us that postat systems for imperial purposes are very ancient institutions, the oldest known being that of China, known as the I Chan, or Govern- ment service of Couriers for the transmission of official despatches, This is mentioned in the recorda of the Chow Dynasty, some 3,000 years ago. WHITE'S
ELECTRIC COMB
ON SALE AT LEADING STORES,
NO SHOCKS —– NO SPARKS the little bulb lights up when you turn the ring.
No shocks or sparks, but the life- giving electricity is there. To-day very fow people have enough natural electricity in their hair, and it is largely for lack of this and because of its failing vitality that hair loses its wave, its colour, and becomes dandruffy,
grows grey and falls out.
HAIR TROUBLES DISAPPEAR. What is needed is a regular daily combing with White's Electric Comb; then your hair troubles will disappear. The electric current passes from one tooth to another and through the hair. The hair is revitalized,
its growth stimulated, and the dormant roots awaken to new life.
