A high standard of work at the schools has been maintained. One child was awarded a scholarship at the Central British School by the local Government in January this year, but was unable to take it up owing to the parents anex pectently returning to the United Kingdom. Interest in school work has greatly increased by the intro duetion of a "house" system with a monthly competition for the mer it shield.

The ammal swimming sports were hold in September last year and keen competition was shown by all the entrants. They will as usual, be held in September this year, and in addition to the Pro- ficiency Badges, the General Ollicer Commanding has also very kindly presented a lag for competition between the schools in Hongkong Kowloon. We shall innke every effort to be the first holders of this and also to retain it.
