These, in brief, are my secrets of a youthful and happy old age.

By LORD SYDENHAM OF COOMBE,

I am eighty-four years of age, and I attribute my long life and general good health to moderation in all things continuous hard work, and many and varied in- terests and studies.

With regard to health I am not a fuddist, possibly because I have never had time to be; but I smoke very little, drink a small quantity with lunch and dinner, and sleep us long as circumstances will allow. Although I am not fussy about my food, I do not eat meat. Fish and poultry, plenty of green vegetables and light egg dishes is the diet which appears to suit me best.
