The remains of the late Mr. E. R. Dovey were conveyed to the Happy Valley cemetery yesterday evening, and placed in the Protestant Chapel, where Rev. E G. Powell, assisted by Rev. Frank Short, conducted a short service.
Rev. Powell, prior to the service, said that a message had been re- ceived from Mr. Dovey's parents, that the botty ba requesting embalmed and sent to Sydney, Australia. The remains would therefore be left overnight in the chapel and later embalmed.
The hearse, when it arrived at the monument, was followed by a company of Police Reserves and also a company of regular police. Dr. J. E. Dovey, a cousin, and Mr. A. K. Mackenzie brother-in-law) followed inmediately behind the hearse. There was a large gather- ing of friends at the monument. prominent 4231 18:2100273 many police theers.
