HOW THE LEAGUE COULD AID CHINA.

PLEA BY CHAIRMAN OF CHINA ASSOCIATION.

London, Apr. 20.

A strong plen for cooperation be. tween China and the League of Nations was made by Mr. S. F. Meyera, the Chairman, at the an nual meeting of the China Asso- ciation.

The League could help China with men and money, and would not seek to establish foreign control in China but to show her how to control herself. He meant League tutorship and not tutelage, namely expert teaching of the arts of modern government without vain attempt at Guardianship.

China could benefit much from outside assistance, while there was no doubt as to the advantages the west would obtain from a rehabi- itated China.
