Mr. Goldwyn, Director Edward A. Sutherland, Husby Berkeley, former dance director of the Ziegfeld Follies, and even Eddle Cantor himself, were unanimous in approving the promotion of Hazel Witter. It was the end of a long and tedious search.

More than 2,500 girls had been in- terviewed by the Goldwyn staff in a aearch for the twelve most beautiful girls in Hollywood. The film public marvelled at the beauty of the girls

in "Whoopes." But the producers are determined that "Palmy Days" should surpass Cantor's first film in every way.

Only four of the "Whoopee" girls were able to pasa muster for the new Olm. Hunitreds of girls had been in- terviewed and given screen tests every day. And of the lot only eleven were found who were deemed beautiful enough. Fer two weeks the search had been frantic for a twelfth girl. Rehearsals and to be held up for the Nelection.
