to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 26th Ulhino, forwarding a transcript of an Qidinance passed by the Legislature of Hong Kong N. 1 of 1874, entitled "An Ordinance " to empower the Governor to exercise certain powers under the Merchant Shipping Act 1873" together with a Report of the Local Attorney General thereupon, and requesting to be informed whether this Ordinance may properly be allowed to remain in operation.
