PUZZLING AFFAIR.
WITH A BOOM THAT could be heard throughout the city, n powerful bomb exploded at the top of Battery Path this morning, seriously wounding Tooi Yun, a cool employed at the Cathedral, and hurling him over the wall into Murray Parade Ground, nearly 30 feet below. The report occurred shortly after 9 o'clock when the Path is usually crowded with Peak Tram pas- sengers, but fortunately, Tsoi was the only person in the vicinity at the time.
Tsoi is at present in a critical condition in the Government Civil Hospital, and unless he recovers, the Police investigating the affair will be presented with a puzzling problem, for there were no eyewitnesses of the actual explosion. 4p-

Many theories have been advanced, the most credible being that Tsoi came upon the bomb, which was hidden in the shrubbery, while cleaning the Cathedral compound.
