SEVEN-A-SIDE TOURNEY

OPENS,

The matches in the preliminary round of the suven-a-side tournament were played on the Club ground last evening. As a spectacle the games were a first rato entertainment, and rewarded by the spectators where

thrilling displays of aceing Bomu open Rugby.

for The Committee responsible organising the tournament have cer- tainly done their best to serve up something really attractive in the way of rugger fare, and all who witnessed the Arzt round gamen were enthusiastle about this innovation. The Naval and Milltary charities should reap a goodly reward from the coming Saturday's machen if the public give the support which the committee's effort deserves. The writer cannot help feeling that they should have taken a "late" at yes- terday's matches, where a crowd sonte hundreds would have been only tos pleased to pay a dollar to ac the port provided.
