FLYING CLUBS IN DIFFICULTIES.
APPEAL TO AIR MINISTRY.
Several light aeroplane clubs may have to close down.
With the Government Aubsidy reduced a number of the clubs, which are really the backbond of the R.A.F. reserve, are in Anan-j cial dificulties.
The position will be discussed! when representatives of the A-1 Mociated Licht Aeroplane · Clubs meet Air Ministry officials at the Royal Acro Club.
Originally dying clubs received £50 for every plot trained, 304,! for every hour flown by a qualified member up to 20 hours a year, and i £10 for everypllot's Brence renew- ed, up to a limit of £2,000 a year per club. Eighteen monthe age, the grant was reduced to £19 for every new pilot.
