Jan. 21. Following the massacre of 28 Government officials in the Sal vador rising, a force of 300 mem- bers of the richer families in San Salvador in patrolling the streets with orders to shoot all Com- munists at sight.

The officials, it is alleged, were lined up and shot without trial.
