The fourth match in the billiards tournament for the Ng Sze-kwang Challenge Cups was held in the Sallore and Soldiers' Home last night, when H. M. 9. Medway mot and do feated the RAS.C. by four games They to one.

at 9.15 p.m. ・・

For purposes of comparison the Hongkong index numbers have been converted from the unois of) 1922—100 to 1921=100. It should be understood, however, that the respective indexes are not strictly comparable.

The general average for all articles in the United Kingdom showed a steady quarterly decline throughout the whole period, whereas the Hong- kong guros rose slightly in the second quarter and fell comparatively heavily In the third quarter.

Great Britain abandoned the gold standard on September 20, and it is interesting to note that the Index figure for all articles increased from 69.2 in the carlior part of the month to 99.2 in the later part of the month, The principal proportionate increases occurred in the cereals group (8.0%), cotton (0.6%), textiles other than cot. ton and wool (6.2%), and other metals and minerals (8.2%). The meat and fish group declined 4.4%.

The provisional index figure of 120.6 for Hongkong for the month of October (on a 1924 basis) in the lowest recorded this year, the July September 121.7. As compared with figure being 128.0, August 128.9 and

September the index number for food. the index number for articles other stuffs fell from 138.1 to 120.1, while
