The open ale weight lifting conpati- tions will take place on December 27. 1031 at 2 p.m. on the Hongkong Football Club Ground, by kind per. mlesion of the Hongkong Football Club. This is definitely ixed and competitors are asked to note the date. place and time.

Another prominent lifter has enter ed for "Hongkong's Strongest Youth" competition and that makes three en- tries. They are Charles Herbert Chanatong from St. Joseph's College; Lum Yau-fu from King's College; and Louis Augusto da Raza of 288 Kow- loon Tong. Kowloon. Another two good lifters have entered for the "Weight for Weight Lifting Championship of Hongkong" and they make six entries. They are Yeo Kok-cheang, Le Keon-kan, Charles Herbert Chanateng, Lam Yan-fu, Edwardo Alberto da Roza, and Louis Augusto da Roza,

The one who secures the highest points will be crowned the title of "Hongkong's Must Perfect Man" for 1931. The competitors will be naked to take their turns of the platform according to alphabetical eriler and there will be as many eliminating rounds as the Judges deem gecessary.

Weight Lifting Kules.

Here are a few weight lifting rules for the lifters to know. The Secret. nry will be plonsed to furnish any fur- ther particular roncerning the weight lifting rules. The printed rules will be ready in about ten days, and cath competitor will be given copy.

1. The lifts are One Hand Snatch, One Hand Clean and Jerk (to be per- formed with the opposite mix to that used for the Snatch), and Two Ilands Clean and Jerk with Barbeit.

2. Competitors for "Hongkong'a Strongest Youth" must be able to produce their Birth Certiflentes when arked by the Referee.

3. Ench competitor must wear a pair of dark invy blue nickers, and a pair of shues or boots-the boy to be bare to the waist, Competitors for "Hongkong's Most Perfect Man" must wear the same costume.

J. Alf Weight Lifting Appliancia will be supplied by the College. In no case will a competitor he permitted to bring his own appliances.

3. Size 15in, diameter disc will be allowed.

6. Each competitor shall be per- mitted five attempts on each lift, but the unused number of attempts on any one lift cannot be carried over to the next ft.

7. The weight of the bell shall be increased in stages of not less than 10 lbs., except in the case of the last attempt on a Hft, in which use competitor may demand 5 lbs. In any easy, a premature increase of 5 1. shall be deemed the last attempt on a lift. Under no circumstances will a competitor be permitted to nuke an attempt with a weight lighter than the one which he previously attempted.

B. Should a competitor not, be ready to lift when called upon to do so, he will be deemed to have for feikd his attempt, and will have to proceed to the next weight.

D. Any weight lifted past the height of the knees ahall be counted na an attempt.

10. Competitors will he called upon

to ft in alphabetical order.
