With its picturesque Scottish customs and usual jollity. St. Andrew's Ball proved highly suc- cessful at the Paninsula Hotel last night. More than 1,100 dancera thronged the rose room and roof garden.

was heard of Fashion's dictates and the etiquette of dress during the action in the King's Bench Division regarding the dress bill of Mrs. Aimee Frankau, wife of Mr. Gilbert Frankau, the author. Mr. Frankau denied that he knew his wife was incurring the bill and said that when the clothes were bought his wife was lavishly nup plied.
Mr. T. J. O'Connor, for Mr. Frankau, submitted that it was the husband who was entitled to fix the standard of expenses of his wife.
