Miss Thomas entered the final of the Open Ladies' Singles Cham- pionship of the Colony when she beat Mrs. Chiu by two sela to one on the United Services Recreation Clab courts yesterday.

Mrs. Chiu won the first set nt 7-6 and it was generally consider- ed that she would claim the next one and the match, but Mine Thomas asserted horself in the second set which she took after conceding only one game.

The final set was very ovenly contested and it was not till twelve games were played that Miss Thomas claimed it and the match. The game on the whole was very Interesting, a high standard of play being maintained throughout.
