Shameen, Oct. 20,

In a League match played here on Saturday between H. M. S. Moth and II. M. S. Seamew, the former emerged the winners

MISS ENID LO'S FINE VICTORY.

Any proof needed to display Miss Enid Lo as the leading lady tenuls player of the Colony was amply provided yesterday, when the holder of the singles title defented Mrs. R. E. Tottenham in straight. seta in the arst round of the cur rent championship.

The match

was played at the U.S.R.C., and served up some very. worthy tennis. Misa Lo's sound- Bess in all departments was the deciding factor in her favour, though Mrs. Tottenham fought as tenaciously as of yore. The win- attack. ner, however, not up an which sho sustained to such effect that her opponent had no oppor- tunity of countering anva in do- fenea which

eventually broke down.

There were a few protracted rallies, which were generally finish- ed off by Miss Lo with a cleverly- placed what down the lines, the direction of which she concealed until the last moment with great dexterity. On the whole, however, the exchanges were narrowed down to a quick positioning on either side, followed by an ace.

Both sets west to ten games, Miss Lo breaking through Mrs. Tottenham's service to win the first at 6-f She should have cap tured the second
