The matches, under the patronage of the Governor of Canton and Ad- miral Chan, were in aid of the Hankow Flood Relief Fund.

Bodiker Deats Ramjahrt. Badiker, who la rapidly improving in all phases of the game, particularly on a hard court, obtained a spectacular victory over C. A. L. Rumijahn, the, scores reading 1-6, 7-5, 6-7, 3-4, 6-2.

The five-set duel was carried out Ofalmost entirely from the base-line, where the two men delighted the spectators with long, rallias featuring [beautiful drives. "The fact that Bodiker aventually hit harder than Rumjahn, who learnt his tennis on hard courts, is but illustrative of the oxcellence of his play.

"C.A.L." took the first set so cơm- 1fortably as to suggest a complete 1 overwhelming of the Canton repre- . . 3sentative but Bodiker recovered, won 3 the next eat to 5, lost the third at the twelfth game, captured the fourth 2 at the tenth, and was unstoppable in of the fifth, in which he conceded but 2jtwa gamS CM.
