-Brussels, May 12. The death is announced of the famous. violinist and composer, Eugene Isaye.-Reuter.
[Eugene Yanye, the famous Belgian violinist and conductor, was born at Liege in July, 1868. He received his first music lessons from his father and appeared in publie-at-the age of 6. Entering the Liege Conservatoire. he studied the violin with Massart
and harmony with Dupuis. In 1867 he won the second prize. He continued hin training ander Wieniawski and obtained a Gov- ernment
subsidy through the influence of Vieuxtemps who thought very highly of him. In 1879 he played at concerts in Cologne and Aix-in-Chapelle, and in 1881 became concertmaster of
