A fin de impedir cualquiera discusion en lo futuro, y teniendo en conside- de todos los idiomas extrangeros el Ingles es el mas generalmente conocido racion que en China, el presente Tratado es escrito en los idiomas Español, Chino, é Ingles, y Todas estas versiones tienen el firmado en nueve ejemplares, tres en cada idioma. mismo sentido y fuerza, pero siempre que haya diferencia entre las interpretaciones de los textos Español y Chino, se decidirá por el texto Ingles.

XVIII.
Si en lo futuro, las Altas Partes Contratantes deseasen modificar alguna de el presente Tratado, podran abrir negociaciones al las estipulaciones contenidas efecto despues de vencido un término de diez años contados desde el dia del cange Seis meses antes de la expiracion de los diez de las ratificaciones de este Tratado. años, cualquiera de las Partes Contratantes puede notificar oficialmente á la otra Si no se su deseo de hacer en el Tratado modificaciones y en qué consisten estas. hiciese tał uotificacion, el Tratado permanecerá en vigor por otros diez años.
XIX.
El presente Tratado será ratificado por Su Excelencia el Presidente del Perú, previa la aprobacion del Congreso Peruano, y por Su Magestad el Emperador de la China, y las ratificaciones seran cangeadas en Shanghai 6 Tientsin, á la brevedad posible.
En fé de lo cual, los Plenipotenciarios respectivos han firmado
este Tratado.

China, this Treaty is written in the Spanish, Chinese and English languages, and All these versions have the same signed in nine copies, three in each language. sense and signification, but whenever the interpretation of the Spauish and Chinese versions may differ, then reference shall be made to the English text.
XVIII.
If in future the High Contracting Parties desire a Modification of any Stipulation contained in this Treaty, they shall be at liberty after the lapse of ten years dated from the day of the exchange of the ratifications of this Treaty, to open negotiations to that effect. Six months before the expiration of the ten years, either of the Contracting Parties may officially notify to the other, that Modifica- If no such notification tions of the Treaty are desired, and in what these consist.

XIX.
The present Treaty shall be ratified by His Excellency the President of Peru after being approved by the Peruvian Congress, and by His Majesty the Emperor of China; and the ratifications shall be exchanged at Shanghai or Tientsin, as soon as possible.
In token whereof, the respective Plenipotentiaries have signed and sealed
this Treaty.
Done at Tientsin, this 26th day of the month of June in year of the Lord 1874, corresponding to the Chinese date, the 13th day of the 5th moon of the 13th year of Tung-Chi.
