A very pleasing function took place in the saloon of the Ba Kia- shan yesterday afternoon when Mr. John Arnold, who for over 30 years has been connected with the Hong kong, Cantan and Macao Steamboat the recipient of Company, was several gifts from the European of icers and crew of the various ships of the Company's fleet, on the oc casion of his retirement.
