I say you have good congratulation that a day's golf at Fanling and a moderate amount of refreshment is not costly.

The Caddies.

He-are roncladits. I shouki like to mention the prestian of emidies at Puding.

This is subject which committees for number of years have e

with dravoured to dent with, but varying success. We find ourselves at certain times of the year, the during the paddy harvest, liable to a shortage, particularly of the bigster linys. This Is a position which wo cannot deal with as, although boys themselves might be willing to carry an as caddies, their parents require them to work in the Belds and have even been known to come to the Club to fetch back such buys ne have play- rd trunnt.

Complaints have been received in respect of a number of small boys who lie In walt for ball which are playel into the rough. In order to try to deal with this situation, wr have now el a "caddy-policeman." He is an ex caddy, and we propose to whether it Sm fry him out to possible in any way to control the activities of the boys in question.

Many methods of dealing with tee enddie question in general have been tried, but in the majority of instances without any marked stiveess, owing, in some measure, to the lack of vo

I must make special mention here of the work of Mr. Greental. My fellow mealues of the committee wilt wish 1930 to do su, Mr. Greenhill N o largely responsible for the new 9 holes and for the general upkeep of the contres which mean so much to , that if I did not make some spectat reference to his efforts I should be lacking in my duty.

1 should also like to express my thanks to the Secretary for his work; he is never too busy to lend a help ing hand to the harassed Captain. I should like to remind members that the position of Secretury to a Club with, the membership of magnitude, with courses sprend over in wide area and with a considerable financial responsibility, ia no easy one. Perhaps mabers would try to bear that position a little more prominently in mind when they feel inclined to criticise.

I must nisa mention the good work of Mr. and Mrs. Kerr, Mr. Kerr parti- cularly in pushing forward the work on our courses in spite of adverse wenther, and Mrs. Kerr in taking care of the inner man and of our gucden. The entering you will all ngre la great credit to Mrs. Kerr's hard work and I can tell you t hard work, Her day of rest (5.0, Sunday) is the hardest day's work aho bas. All week-ends are busy ones, but we are apt to pass them over without a thought of those who do so much work for our comforts,

I should also like to thank Mesars, Jardine Matheson and Company, on behalf of the Club, for kindly allow ing un the use of their Board Room for this meeting.
