of

L/Cpl. Williams soon had Ple. Lynch at his mercy in the other semi- Anal, and the latter took a lot of punishment to be knocked out in the closing stages of the first round.

The final in this, weight was per- haps the best of the evening, both boxers getting in lot of work. Adams Look the exchanges to Williams in the second round, but the latter came back to make ground before the bell rang. The final round was full of good hitting, with bath boxers go- Ing strong. Adams being little Inoro aggressive to win on points. Welterweights.

L/Cps. Jones and Somerfeld were hoth strong fighters, and put in a lot of work nt clone quarters, Somer- held having shade the better of the first round. The second round was much the same, with Jones taking a lot of punishment gamely, though Somerfield was by no means unmark- ed. Somerfield could not find a ko. punch in the last round, though Jones was grogiry,, ind the former won an paints.

L/Cpl. Woodhouse and Pte. Bull fought an interesting Arst round, get ting well in and mixing it. Wood- house kept at Bull in. the second round, and after giving a lot of body blows, got him against the ropes and administered a knock-out.

The final in this weight was a test of endurance. Woodhound was al ways going for a knock-out, and in so doing received a lot of punishment, which he took quito unmovad. In the last round he had the better of the exchanges, but Somerfeld had piled up suficient points to win.

Middleweights.

Pio. Baulch was far too experione ed a fighter for Pte. Wilkes in the first semi-final, though the latter duck- ed cleverly several times and camo back with good lend. As soon as they got to close quarters, however, Baulch had Wilkes groggy, and a knock-out was the only obvious result. Lloyd was the better boxer in the other semi-final, L/Cpl. Hearne rely ing mostly on wild swings that Lloyd was able to dodge. Lloyd should have mado more points,

though.

for Hourne's guard wds very opon. In the early part of the third' round, Lloyd auddenly was injured in the hand or arm, and collapsed, for Hearne to get the verdict.
