ST. ANDREW'S BAZAAR FOR V.D.M.A.
For the promotion of missionary enterprise in China, a bazaar was hold in the grounds and hall of St. Andrew's Church on Saturday: the function, proving a big success.
The proceeds of the effort, as Mr. P. S. Cassidy, who presided at the official opening explained, wore to swell the funds of the Victoria Diocesan and Missionary Associa tion, to which organisation the St. Andrew's Church had promised annual quota of $1,500.

UNDERGRADUATES GIVE A
TALENTED SHOW.. Talent of an advanced standard was shown by Hongkong University undergraduates of both sexes on Saturday, when the Arts Associa tion held their third annual dramatic evening. Two plays were produced, and were much enjoyed by a large gathering.

Mrs J. Owen Hughes formally declared the bazaar open, and after she had been presented with a bouquet by Master Andrew Rogers, the Hon. Mr. J. Owen Hughes, behalf of his wife, thanked the gathering for their kindly reception. and expressed pleasure at being present. He observed the keen work going on in St. Andrew's Church and congratulated those re sponsible for the excellence of the Tesults.

Good as this play was, it was the second, entitled "Doctor Love," by Moliere, that earned the most applause. It required a skill not usually found in amateur shows, and it is to the credit of the under- graduates concerned, and also Mr. B. G. Birch, B.A, the producer, that the show was gone through without a hitch.

Deserving of special mention is Mr. Wong Yan-choe, as Sganarelle, a miserly old man obsessed with the idea that "gay young sparks" were after his daughter's hand in order to gain possession of his money, Girl of my Dreams. The acting was convincing and gave the role just the right touch.
Miss Basto, as the daughter, did not have very much to do except to look adoráble, and sigh at fre- quent intervals to show her love for somebody, whose "eyes spoke volumes whenever they met." Miss Ho Tung was also very effective in her part. The cast was as follows: Sganarelle (a rich miserly old man), Mr. Wong Yan-chee. Mr. Williams (an upholsterer),
