SOUTH CHINA WIN AGAIN. Club Do Well to Hold Them

to Two Goals.

Defence was the best part of both teams at Caroline Hill, where the Club gave an excellent show- ing, though when all is said South China deserved the two goals which Chu Kwok-luen obtained in the first half following some nice forward combination.

The Police thoroughly deserved their draw, though Kowloon may feel they were unlucky not to win: They held their lead of 3-1 until fifteen minutes from the end, and seemed likely to improve upon this position. Then the Police did a little re-shuffling which changed the whole position. Kowloon's de- fenders had the harassed feeling, and with C. Pile and Gillott losing their understanding, McGreavy and Fraser defeated Gurevitch with quite good efforts. Greavy headed through when T. CORRESPONDENCE.

Soccer Suspensións,

[To The Editor of Hongkong Telegraph.]

Sir-The suspension of the two Chinese Athletic footballers who recently toured the South' has give rise to a tremendous amount of talk on the wisdont or otherwise of the officials of the Hongkong Football Association responsible for the action.

Having in mind the fact that the money received by these play- ers was a more triffe when com pared with the amounts receivod by amatours in other branches of sport, that the Association issued no warning to the local players though possessed of information anent the proposed trip to Europe, that it was admitted the delin quenta erred in entire ignorance, and that it was their first offence, it is pertinent to ask whether the | necessity existed for such drastie

punishment being meted out.

Is it not a fact that up to now members of the Loh Wha club, which constituted the main body. of the touring team, have not been debarred by the Shanghai Foot- ball Association, but are being allowed to take part in matches at the Northern Port?. Admitting that Shanghai has no jurisdiction over Hongkong, and Hongkong none over Shanghai, did it not I occur to the [oca) association that it would have been well to enter into correspondence with the Nor- thern Association and act in unison, inasmuch as the offence concern Aed players in both ports?

It is com- tained four players from their second division of last season, but three of these are now definitely in the senior cleven, so that if the Association had not acted quite so promptly they would have known that the team' fielded by the Athla- tic was about the best available.
