Invitation to Australians.
Mr. Udy, in putting forward arg- gestions for the guidance of the in- coming committee, said that as the K.C.C. was a cricket club he would like to see the committee considering the possibility of
of bringing a team to China from England, South Africa or Australia to play here. As a cricketer he believed that the game could be given a great boon if they could get an English, South African or Australian team to come to China during the next season.
Continuing Mr. Udy said that he left Australia twelve months ago but prior to leaving a team had visited Calcutta under the captaincy of W. A. Oldfield. The trip was under- taken as a pleasure trip, added the cricketers. speaker. The Australian were amateurs and would do it as a pienie party and if the Colony coul Rrt a team up. here it would do a great deal for cricket in the Colony,
The chairman said that the sug gestion would be nut on record. It was a very valuable one and would meet the due consideration of the committee.
to
Mr. Udy mentioned that he had written to Mr. Peter McAlister asking whether he could get a cricket team come to Hongkong in twelve months time. The conditions were that the team should consist of five members of the Australian team that visited England in the last Including Don Bradman (laughter) and Warren Charlie Macartney Bardsley. If the visit materialised the promotere would be doing some thing in the interest of cricket in the Colony.
The chairman said that if that could only be arranged it would have the support of every cricket club in the Colony,
A rote of thanks to the chairmari and the officers who had served du ing the past year concluded the meet- ing.
