YOUR CHILDREN.
[By Olive Roberts Barton.]
Mothers, often aro puzzled about vitamins. It is an elusive term at best and probably none but the initiate know how they work, why they work, or exactly what they are.
Calories, we know, are food units that build up tissue, but vítamins are different. They seem, as the name derivatives suggest, to give "life" to certain parts of the body, thereby pre-| venting disease from attacking those parts by keeping them resistant.
I have looked up a table of vita- mins for the help of those mothers. who are concerned about fortify- in their children against present malformations and weaknesses.

TO-DAY'S RECIPE.
A Dainty Souffle. Of coursò every souffle should be dainty, but things are not always as they should be, in this naughty world; oven men and women err occasionally. This is a very dainty soule, and not too much elbow work, Melt together three table- spoonfuls of butler, the Samo amount of granulated sugar, Two samespoonfuls of flour and 26 tumblerful of milk Hot up the mixture, but beware of letting it quite boil; flavour with lemon ca sence or such other taste as you inay prefer: stir in carefully the heaten yolks of four eggs, ani lastly the tremendously well-whin- ped whites of the same, whipped until they are still.
