Mr.Whyte-Smith, sitting as West Point district was again coroner with a jury composed of the scene of a spectacular fire, C. M. Soares and Mak Kam-chan, Messrs. E. W. Duggan (foreman), last night, when two three-storeyed held an inquiry into the death of Chinese buildings. Involving

A chorus of police whistles was followed by the shouting for assistance of Chinese women and children living in the top storeya, who were thrown into a state of panic by the sight of big volumes of flames and smoke shooting up from below. Appliances from the Central Fire Station and the Wanchal station, and fire floats, arrived almost immediately, fol Jowed by a contingent of Police.
