accident and found the lorry lean- ing over to one side, the earth under the right hand wheels having given way. The surface of the ground had seemed solid and per- fectly safe for the lorry.
After further evidence, Coroner pointed out to the jury that the accident was due to the ground suddenly and unexpertedly giving way. Perhaps it was the result of some old drain which had not been properly filled in. It had the appearances of being firm and there was nothing to indicate that it was dangerous.
The jury returned a verdict of death by misadventure.
A Resumed Inquiry,
On the resumption of the in- piry into the cause of the death of a woman who either jumped or foli pit a bus whilst it was in motion in Kowloon City, the jury returned a verdict of death by misadventure. At the last hearing the Coroner criticised the failure of the Traffic Police to secure is doctor whom the decased bad consulted and yester- day Dr. Io Asjon gave evidence that he had seen the woman who was Buffering from an incised finger which he accordingly dressed. She was suffering from pain but did not appear to be sick or faint.
At the conclusion of the evidence the jury returned a verdict of death by misadventure, intimating that the woman had either jumped or fell off the bus whilst it was in I motion.
