The report states that the Na- tional Government and the Kwangtung provincial. leaders have come to an agreement place the Kwangtung revenue from tobacco, spirits, salt and customs duties under the ad- ministration of the representa tives of Nanking; in other words, all revenue derived from these sources are being remitted to the Nanking Government.

INTEREST PAYMENT DISPUT- .........ED BY. THE PLAINTIFF.
A claim for interest due, amounting to $43, on a principal sum lent of $400, was heard in the Summary Court yesterday afternoon before the Pulsne Judga (Mr. Justice: Wood) when his Lordship gave judgment for the plaintiff. Loung Kam-loung, married woman, living at No, 308, Laichikek Road, Shamshuipo, sued Chan Put-yew, No. 40, Tai Nam Street, Shamshuipo, Ko Ching-tai, No. 9, Ki Lung Street, Shamshui- po, and Wo Lin, No. 91, Apliu Street, Shamahuipo, the claim being for $400 money lent on a promissory note dated December Previously, first deferidant 14, 1929, and $43. interest. admitted that the principal "sum was owing but disputed the in- judgment was given for the plain- terest claimed. Consequently
Hff for $400 and a date was ized for hearing evidence with regard to the interest."
Mr. H. C. Lee, for plaintia, stated that second and third de- fendants were both known to plaintiff and they approached her with regard to a loan to Brat defendant, whom she did not know.
She agreed to make the loan, provided both second and third defendants, signed a note, and provided it was made in solicitor's office. The conditions were agreed to and the money was lent. Plaintiff had received $29 interest.
Giving evidence, plaintiff corro- borated Mr. Lee's remarks, after which first defendant gave evidence. He said that he re- quired the money to repair his shop but after he received it he had to close down. He had offer- ed to pay 20 per cent, to plaintiff in settlement, as he had arranged with other creditors, but she had refused to accept it. He claimed to have paid the interest.
Both second and third defen- dants gave evidence, saying that they signed the note because they introduced first defendant to plaintiff and in order that plaintiff might safeguard herself if first defendant ran away.
His Lordship said the plaintif was clearly entitled to judgment and gave judgment against all three defendants for the interest claimed, with costs.
