There is a stir in the world of woman's fashion rarely known be fore; not even when it was first; definitely established that she pos- secsed knees. We appear to be on the edge of a complete reversal of all our recent standards of feminine desirabilty. The lines of the latest dress designs, have caused a shock from which it will take some of us long to recover.
Latterly the fashionable model for our youth and beauty has been to put it quite crudely-the vamp. Evening frocks have been scanty, clinging, seductive. Hats have been provocatively crushed down to reveal one eye-a lustrous eye, enhanced by an eyebrow of delicate symmetry. Allurement has quite plainly been the order of the day:
The young women portrayed for us in the fashion journals have bad -somewhat monotonously, it must be confessed-actual or potential "ramp" written all over them. Their day has passed. The damsels who adorned the fashion page of my paper this morning had quite evidently just returned from teaching their Sunday school class.
