KOWLOON GO DOWN IN
VIGOROUS GAME.
From the opening whistle it was hammer and, tongs when the V.R.C. and Kowloon first division waterpolo sevens tried conclusions last night There was doubt before the match, but there was none after the final bell rang with the board showing three goals for V.R.C. while Kowloon had
not scored.
In this respect the huge crowd that packed the limited accommodation of the V.R.C. pool must have had every satisfaction; for now there is no doubt at all that V.R.C. are the better team Their win was no fluke, although the Kowloon combination was anything but their strongest.
As water polo in Hongkong Is jadged, last night's match was a first class exhibition; certainly it was the most interesting this season. There were few mistakes, the throwing and passing was fairly accurate with one or two exceptions, both teams had more or less of an understanough for the game was rigorous anyone.
либ
As a matter of fact, that was the only
feature. The marring in the
galleries yelled themselv hoarse: one or two of the players at tempted to, but both spectators and players took too serious a view of the game. Host of the men in the water ignored many of the rules and received no quarter from Mr. Weyman, the referee; consequently the action was held up for many minutes by a con- tinnoni whistle blowing.

The case was one in which Ma Tau-nam, No. 23 Hing Hon Road, sued Sit Kok-ain, a Chinese actor, of the Ko Shing Theatre, Queen's Road Central, for $1,000, alleged to be money lent.
Defendant alleged that there was a settlement of accounts, in- eluding the $1,000 in question, when plaintiff took the troups over, but this was denied by plaintif, who alleged that the money was still owing,

The Game Described.
The first half was by far the better. There was little between the sides and the only score was when L. Roza Pereira capped a pretty piece of play by passing to his brother who sent one Into the net that the goalie had no chance of stopping; L Roza Pereira handled the ball a lot in this half but perhaps could have put it to better use than he did. At back for Kow loon, Railton and Witchell, were stand ing out, the latter particularly.
Gittina added the next two gonis for V.R.C.. in the second half by well timed knocks. The first one

Kowloon's throwing went to pieces. towards the end, several shots for the goal going wide.
Second Division Farce.
V.R.C. seconds had a little exercise play when they met the Kowloon seconds, What they could have done had they been all out from first to last is only conjecture for as it was the final tallies were 1 to nothing.
The game was merely a succession of blunders by Kowloon and half- hearted energy by V.R.C. Whenever not V.R.C. pushed forward, they were hindered. Kowloon appeared to make it a point of always leaving one of their opponents unmarked. They had no idea what steps to take when their opponents had the ball and less when themselves were in possession. they The V.R.C. goalthrowers were: Lawrence (5), Zimmern (3), Gosano (2) and Remedies. The teams were:
V.R.C. R. M. da Rocha, Fornita, Maynard, Zimmern, Goaano, Lawrence, Remedios.
