Asked if there was any truth in the rumour that the Hang Cheong and the Shing Cheong, which are on the Canton-Macao run, will be taken off that service and put on the Hongkong-Canton run, Mr. Woo stated that nothing had yet been decided. He was sure, however, that the Shing Cheong, which is under repair at Talkoo Dock, will remain on the Canton-Macao service but he could not say for certain what would be done about the Hang Cheong.
It will be recalled that during the freight and passenger competition about a year ago, the Hang Cheong was taken off, her usual run to help the Sui An and the Sui Tai on the Hongkong-Macao run. She was then the fastest boat on the run and as a result was well- patronised.
