A NEW DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION.

We understand that Mr. G. P. de Martin, M.B.E., Inspector of English Schools in Hongkong, has been appointed acting Director of Education, in succession to Mr. E. Ralphs, who is going Home on Friday on retirement from Gov ernment service.
Mr. Gaston Pacros da Martin. M.B.E., was born on December 31st, 1874. He is a B.A. of Trinity College, Dublin, and since his arrival in Hongkong in 1904, has been connected with the Education Department of the Colony.
