fourteenth annual athletic meeting of St. Joseph's College was held Caroline Hill, on Saturday afternoon, when a good day's sport was witness- ed by a large number of interested spectators.
Before asking. Mr. E. Ralphs, Director of Education, to present the prizes, the Director of the College, Rov. Bro. Aimar, said he was very glad to welcome Mr. Ralphs to the College's sports meeting. The speaker referred to Mr Ralphs" Interest in the College, saying that they were always glad to have an old friend with them.

New York, May S... Despite President Hoover's as- surance that "the worst is over," an enormous wave of selling awept over the New York stock market in stocks this morning. Falls varied from one to 14 points and a new record of nearly 5,000,000 shares for Saturday's trading wus established.
There were scenes of wild con- fusion at the close of the day as stockholders, fearing another crash rushed to sell. The general anxiety WAS increased by the mystery surrounding the present decline, which started a week ago.
