Peking, Mar. 1. The Italian Legation here told a Reuter representative that news reached the Legation on February 27 of the capture by brigands of Bishop Versiglia and Father Cara- vario.
Twenty-four hours later another telegram from Hongkong announc- ed that the Bishop and the Father had immediately been put to death. While awaiting confirmation of the tragic news, the Italian Minis- ter has addressed a note to the Chinese Government and has in- formed the Foreign Office at Rome.-Reuter.
